My Story
Curiosity to Coaching with Purpose - Everyone faces challenges in life

I’m no exception. But some of us are driven by a deep curiosity: Why are we the way we are? Can we change our circumstances? That curiosity has shaped my entire life. even as a child, I had an unusual obsession with time — how fleeting it was. For a five-year-old, that awareness was strange, but it planted a seed. I struggled to read, couldn’t spell, and no one understood why until much later, when vision issues and dyslexia were finally diagnosed. I learned early that the way others see you may never match how you see yourself — and that many of our greatest struggles are silent. We simply find ways to compensate. That need to understand, to learn, never left me. It led me into engineering, where I designed innovative products and worked alongside incredibly bright minds. Yet in my spare time, I was equally obsessed with health, aging, and what it really means to thrive. I devoured the work of leading-edge researchers on longevity and performance. Over time, I realized: intelligence comes in many forms — and creating results depends not just on knowledge, but on understanding what drives people. That insight led me to study human behavior more deeply — how we process information, how childhood shapes our mindset, and how our unconscious beliefs shape our actions. I became a certified hypnotist in 2005, and those tools helped me support others in uncovering and shifting subconscious patterns holding them back. Later, I trained with the Human Potential Institute and honed my coaching skills even further. But life had one more surprise in store. After a fulfilling career, I retired — and was blindsided. My sense of purpose, identity, and value vanished almost overnight. No one needed me anymore. That loss hit hard, and it made me realize just how tied our self-worth can be to what we do, not who we are. That moment changed everything.I decided to step fully into the work I had been preparing for all along: coaching others toward a life of meaning, wellness, and potential. I combine decades of real-world experience, deep training in behavior and mindset, and a relentless passion for human potential. What sets my coaching apart: I help you get to the root programming that drives your current outcomes. Together, we uncover the mindset that’s shaping your reality — and rewire it to create the future you know is possible.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Cognitive Edge Coaching? Cognitive Edge Coaching is a unique coaching experience that blends mindset work, behavioral science, and guided hypnosis to help you identify the subconscious patterns driving your current habits—and replace them with intentional ones that move you toward your goals.
How does hypnosis work in this process? Hypnosis is a safe, natural state of focused attention. In this relaxed state, your mind becomes more open to positive suggestions and internal shifts. It's not about control—it's about access. We use it to help you bypass mental resistance and reprogram limiting beliefs at the subconscious level.
Will I lose control under hypnosis? No. You are always in control. Hypnosis simply helps you become deeply relaxed and more receptive to change. You won’t do or say anything you don’t want to. It’s a collaborative process where you’re fully aware and engaged.
What kind of issues can this coaching help with? Cognitive Edge Coaching is effective for a wide range of goals, including: Breaking difficult unwanted habits or behaviors Reducing stress and anxiety Increasing focus and motivation Enhancing confidence and self-belief Clarifying goals and taking consistent action Shifting limiting beliefs or internal blocks Creating a new perspectives Sharing proven options shown to work for wellness and fitness
How is this different from traditional coaching? Traditional coaching often focuses on conscious strategies and accountability. While valuable, this approach can fall short when deeper patterns are in play. Cognitive Edge Coaching goes deeper—into the subconscious drivers of behavior—using hypnosis and mind-focused techniques to create change from the inside out.
What if I’ve tried everything and nothing works? That’s exactly when this kind of work is most powerful. If other methods haven’t created lasting change, it’s often because the underlying programming hasn’t been addressed. Our approach helps uncover and rewire those hidden patterns that keep you stuck.
How long does it take to see results? Some clients notice shifts after just one session, while deeper or long-standing issues may take several. Consistency and commitment are key, but progress often happens faster than people expect because we're working at the root level of behavior.
Is this therapy? No. Cognitive Edge Coaching is not therapy and does not treat mental health conditions. It is a forward-focused, results-driven process aimed at helping you achieve specific goals and create meaningful life changes.
Do I need to believe in hypnosis for it to work? No belief is required—just a willingness to participate. Hypnosis is a natural state that nearly everyone experiences (like when you're "zoned out" during a movie or drive). We simply use that state intentionally to support change
How do I get started? Start with a free consultation to explore whether this method is a good fit for your needs. You’ll get a chance to ask questions, clarify your goals, and learn more about what to expect from the process.

Through our unique blend of neuroscience, behavior change strategies, and hypnosis, we empower you to break free from old patterns and design a future that resonates with your true desires. Health & Fitness After struggling with motivation, Lisa reframed her identity from someone who “tries to get fit” to someone who is a healthy, energetic person. This mindset shift led her to consistently choose nourishing meals and daily movement, not out of obligation, but because it aligned with how she now saw herself. As a result, she lost 20 pounds and gained confidence.
Financial Focus Jason used to see himself as disorganized with money. Through coaching, he redefined himself as someone who values clarity and control. That new self-image helped him stick to a weekly budget, avoid impulse spending, and build an emergency fund. Within 6 months, he paid off a credit card and started investing.
Emotional Growth Tom, who often felt trapped in anger and a victim mindset, learned to step back and observe his experiences without personalizing them. By identifying the root of his anger and shifting his perspective, he no longer saw himself as the target of life’s challenges. This new outlook fostered emotional resilience and optimism, allowing him to pursue opportunities he once felt were out of reach.
Addiction Recovery After years of relapse and failed treatment, Xavier began to see his future self as entirely separate from his current struggle. By creating a clear vision of who he wanted to become, he let go of the identity tied to addiction. This shift sparked lasting change—leading him to sobriety, meaningful relationships, and a career path he once believed was out of reach.
Technical evidence of transformation
Neurophysiological Shifts during Hypnosis
Neuroimaging shows that during hypnosis, brain areas responsible for salience (dorsal anterior cingulate) decrease activity, while regions tied to self-reflection and task-switching shift in connectivity. This creates a state of heightened absorption and reduced external awareness—ideal for reprogramming deeply rooted patterns

Cognitive-Emotional Flexibility (De-Automatization)
Hypnosis promotes “de-automatization”: breaking rigid mental patterns and creating mental flexibility. That means old automatic thinking can be replaced by intentional, self-chosen thought chains—essential for identity shifts - Cornell University Quantitative Biology Neurons and Cognition
